Biography

J. Shimon & J. Lindemann are a collaborative pair living and working in Appleton, WI.  Concerned with place, family, legacy, and Wisconsin heritage, their work takes the form of project-based photography, film, and installation.  They explore a variety of image-making processes, and experiment with found and reconstructed cameras.  Both are professors of art at Lawrence University in Appleton.  Their work can be found in the collections of Art Institute of Chicago, The Museum of Wisconsin Art, Lawrence and Lee Theatre Research Institute, Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, Racine Art Museum, Chazen Museum of Art, and Wisconsin Historical Society.
